INTRODUCTION, GOALS, OBJECTIVES, RESEARCH METHODS, EXPECTED RESULTS, REFERENCES, TIME FRAME

The main goal of creation of this land cover map was to determine boundaries of sandy habitats and potential area of the "Goravan sands" State Sanctuary, for which not any map have been found.

This map have been developed in ArcView GIS 3.2.a software environment using data of 10m/pixel, monochrome satellite image, topographic map - 1:25 000, and field sampling using GPS Garmin Etrex. All themes are projected in Pulkovo, 1942 coordinate system.

The main goal of creation of this map was to determine random points for filed sampling. It was developed using ArcView GIS 3.2.a software with Random point generator v. 3.1 extension. Searching of generated random points in the field performed using "Go to" command by GPS personal navigator.

The main goal of creation of this thematic map was to visualise current spatial dostribution of the population of P. persicus near Goravan, for further analysis. The data sampled in the field. Points where P. persicus have been captured, fixed by GPS personal navigator during searching sampling points (see above). Visualization performed using ArcView GIS 3.2.a software with Spatial Analyst extension

The main goal of creation of this thematic map was to visualise current distribution of the population of P. persicus near Goravan depending slope steepness (deg). Visualization performed using ArcView GIS 3.2.a software with 3D Analyst extension.
The main goal of creation of this thematic map was to visualise current distribution of the population of P. persicus near Goravan depending slope aspects (deg form N). Visualization performed using ArcView GIS 3.2.a software with 3D Analyst extension.
