Distribution in Armenia
Altitudes: Araks basin: 890-2700 m above sea level. Kura basin: 375-2600 m. a.s.l.
Regions: Araks basin: Shirak, Armavir, Aragatsotn,Yerevan, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Ararat, Vayots Dzor, Syunik; Kura basin:Tavoush, Lory
Habitats: Streems, rivers, lakes, bunches, rural habitats, stony sites within mountain stepps, steppe-meadows and meadows, semihumid woodlands.

Areal type: Eastern-submediterranean

Global distribution:
Europe: Norway, Sweden, Finland, England, France (Corsica), Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Croatia (including some adriatic islands), Slovenia, Bosnia and Hercegowina, Monte Negro, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece (Limnos, Lesbos, Paros, Antiparos, Despotiko, Chios, Samos, Samothraki, Andros), Turkey, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia,Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine.
 

Asia: E-Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, NW Mongolia, NW China (Xinjiang), N Iran, Syria.

Africa:Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia

Food: small Mammals, fish, amphibians.

Enemies: birds, man, carnivor mallams.

Parasites:

Known trend: not abjective data is available (presumably common).
