Legal Protection of Armenian Herpetofauna Herpetofauna, as a part of biological diversity is protected in Armenia by few local lows and international conventions. But real protection generally is difficult in because of limited national budget of Armenia, high level of corruption, generally low professionality of people involved, and other oucomed factors. Main National Lows managing protection of herpetofauna are follows: Constitution (chapter )The Law on Animal World (03.04.2000), Law on Especially Protected Areas, Moreover, following International convencies, targeting biodiversity conservation were ratified by government of Armenia: Conservation on Biological Diversity, Ramsar Convention. At the same time Armenia is not a member of CITES, List of Species Included in different local, regional and international docluments These taxa are not actually registered in Armenia, but included in IUCN Red List as native species.
